Black Line Tango A grounded field of turquoise and teal sets the stage for dynamic black figures that move with both intention and spontaneity. I let loose with this painting, finding that the scratching movement used to distress the background naturally continued into the creation of the bold “figures.” Bright sparks of red, white, blue, orange, and yellow break through the bold turquoise, adding contrast and emotional lift. The piece balances discipline with freedom—layered, responsive, and open to surprise—inviting viewers into a shifting rhythm of color, motion, and discovery.
